Health Freedom Alliance » New York midwives lose right to deliver babies at home.
As a mom who had a midwives at both of my births, one at a birth center and one at home, as an ex-childbirth teacher, as a health professional, and as a woman, this strikes me as a terrible loss. Like death, birth has been taken out of the normal flow of life and made into a medical crisis event. Of course there are times when the option of medical intervention is a great blessing, but we should have a choice about it.
