Welcome to my practice, and to holistic healthcare. Here are some questions that people frequently have when they begin to work with me.

Q. What can I expect at my first session?
A. The initial consultation is two hours. The first hour is spent taking a very thorough history: health, lifestyle, emotional, family, nutrition, and more. The second hour is spent actually doing some work and putting together an individual program designed uniquely for your needs. This can include checking for food sensitivities, detoxification using kinesiology, identifying your constitutional homeopathic remedy, assessing a supplement program, and more. Initial sessions for children under 10 are 90 minutes.

Q. What can I expect at a follow-up session?
A. Follow-up sessions are usually scheduled for 2-4 weeks after the initial session. At the first follow-up, we will assess how your program is working so far, and what we can do to make it work even better for you. We will discuss any behavioral changes you have made, including nutrition and supplements, and see if anything needs to added, eliminated or tweaked. If you are on a homeopathic remedy, we will evaluate the frequency and potency of dosage. I will check how you are feeling against the list of symptoms or problems you gave me at your initial session to see how much progress has been made.

Q. What if I live too far away to come to your office?
A. I work with many clients all across the country, and even in some other countries, many of whom I have never met face to face. I am very comfortable working by phone. If we work by phone, please email me a recent photo so that I can get a sense of your physical appearance.
If you have a camera that works with your computer, we also have the option of working via webcam, which gives us a chance to see one another in “real time”.

Q. Can you do the same work over the phone?
A. Pretty much, yes. I can check food sensitivities, supplements, and homeopathic remedies; work with your nutritional program, and offer support and information about lifestyle and behavioral changes. I can also do Integrated Kabbalistic Healing and Thematic Transformation. About the only thing I can’t do by phone is detoxify you using kinesiology, but that is one of the nice things about my being so eclectic: there’s always another way to accomplish what we need to accomplish for your health.

Q. What can I expect after a session?
A. People often feel more relaxed, calm and focused after a session. Many clients report that they feel some fatigue immediately after, as if they needed a nap. This is your body processing the changes we are asking it to make; usually by the next day you will feel more energized. It may take from a few days to a few weeks to completely process the work we do in a session. Getting extra rest and extra water will help your body recover more quickly and easily.

Q. How often should I come for sessions?
A. You will find your progress more satisfactory if you come regularly at the beginning of our work together. This will ensure continuity of improvement, and allow us to stay in close communication as your situation changes. Once every 2 weeks is usually a good way to begin. If symptoms are more serious or severe, once a week can be helpful for a time. Once you are feeling better, sessions can be spread out more, without a compromise in your progress.

Q. I felt great after my session, but it didn’t last. What happened?
A. Feeling better initially is a clear sign that we are on the right track. You may need additional work to help your body maintain and build on this change. I can often give you some suggestions by phone, or you may need another session sooner than we had planned. Sometimes deep healing means that old symptoms that have been previously suppressed will re-emerge briefly before finally resolving. This is called a “healing crisis” or “aggravation of symptoms.” If you experience this, please let me know, so that I can support you through it, and so that we can figure out the next step in your continued improvement. Most of all, please stay in touch, so we can continue to work together towards your better health and well-being.

Q. How quickly should I expect results?
A. Clients report that results are often immediate and dramatic for physical issues. Progress on non-physical issues is often more gradual. Even on difficult issues, most clients begin to experience some improvement in no more than 2 to 3 sessions. Clients also say that the longer they come for sessions, the faster they see results each time.

Q. Why should I keep coming for sessions after my symptoms have improved?

A. Being free of symptoms is just the first step on the ladder of true, optimal health. Being healthy means feeling GREAT: full of vitality, alert, energetic, creative, and happy. You have taken a very important step in the process toward optimal health and well-being. Continuing to come for sessions will help you to feel better physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually; to resist illness, to recover more quickly when you do fall ill, and to manage the stress we all inevitably experience in our lives, without becoming overwhelmed or exhausted.
